Burak Yilmaz Joining Tottenham?
Tottenham Hotspur target Burak Yilmaz will make a decision on which club he wants to join on Friday, with Spurs leading the chase for the Turkish goal machine
Football Talk will be keeping you up-to-date with all the latest transfer news throughout the summer. Today, a Tottenham target is set to decide him future on Friday.
Reported Tottenham target Burak Yilmaz will make a decision on which club he wants to join on Friday, according to the Daily Star.
The Turkish goal-machine has one of the most impressive strike rates in Europe after scoring 55 goals in just 75 appearances for Trabzonspor.
The Star claim that this form has attracted interest from the likes of Fulham and Lazio, but it’s Tottenham who are thought to be pushing hardest to land the 26-year-old.
Daniel Levy is struggling to agree a permanent deal with Manchester City for Emmanuel Adebayor, who spent a successful year on loan at White Hart Lane last season, while Jermain Defoe also considering his future at the club.
This has meant Spurs are desperate to sign at least one new striker this summer and it appears Yilmaz is high on their priority list.
The Star report that the player will announce which club he wants to join on Friday, with a move to north London a distinct possibility.
FT Verdict
Not too sure about this one. Would Tottenham be making signings without a new manager in place? Surely Daniel Levy’s first priority should be to get a new boss at the helm then target the players his new man wants?

There is no doubt Yilmaz’ strike-rate is impressive, but it’s worth remembering he plays in the Turkish league. Could he transfer this form to the Premier League? Who knows, but I’m not convinced this guy is the ‘big’ striker Tottenham fans want.
