Chelsea Transfer News: Striker Wants Blues Move
Porto striker Hulk has given Chelsea a major boost by admitting Stamford Bridge is his preferred destination, amid rumours PSG have entered the race for him.
Football Talk will be keeping you up-to-date with all the latest transfer news throughout the summer. Today, Porto striker Hulk has admitted he wants to join Chelsea.
Porto striker Hulk has given Chelsea a major boost by admitting Stamford Bridge is his preferred destination, according to the Daily Mail.
The report claims the Brazilian hitman is likely to leave Portugal this summer and has attracted interest from some of Europe’s top clubs after another excellent season at the Estádio do Dragão.
Chelsea and PSG are thought to be the clubs leading the race for the 25-year-old, who has scored an impressive 73 goals in his 96 appearances for the Portuguese outfit.
The European champions hopes of signing the striker appeared to be dented earlier this week when PSG made contact with Hulk’s agent and declared they would be willing to pay around £43m for his services, £13m more than Chelsea have so far been willing to pay.
However, Hulk is quoted in the Mail as saying he would welcome a move to Chelsea but insists the matter is in the hands of his current club Porto:
‘Chelsea are the current European champions and would please any player and I’m no exception. I’d be happy if the transfer happened.
‘I leave everything in the hands of Porto. I am under contract and I have been happy at Porto for four years, where I have achieved everything.
‘I’ll have the club in my heart no matter what happens this summer or in any other summer.’
Roman Abramovich wants Hulk as a replacement for Didier Drogba, who joined Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua on a free transfer this week.
