Liverpool Transfer Rumours: Reds Linked With Dutch Striker
Liverpool are interested in signing Inter Milan’s striker Luc Castaignos, who is likely to be sold this summer after an unsuccessful season at the San Siro.
Football Talk will be keeping you up-to-date with all the latest transfer news throughout the summer. Today, Liverpool are linked with a Dutch teenage striker.
Liverpool are interested in signing Inter Milan striker Luc Castaignos, according to the Mirror.
The report claims that the Dutch youngster is set for a move this summer after failing to make his mark at the San Siro, and Brendan Rodgers is keen on bringing him to Liverpool.
Castaignos moved to Inter from Feyenoord in 2011 but has gone on to make just 6 appearances, scoring 1 goal, during his first year at the club. Milan would prefer to loan the 19-year-old out to another Serie A side to get him some game-time and boost the strikers confidence.
However, Castaignos doesn’t want to play for another Italian side so after talks between the two parties, it’s been decided that he’ll be sold abroad this summer.
Quoted in the Mirror, the player said:
“In Italy, I only want to play for Inter, but this is not looking possible now.
“The club wants to loan me to an Italian team, but it is a move I would not be interested in.
“We have thus decided that I will be sold.
“I regret not having been able to show my qualities and I am sad. But football is like that and the club and I have made this decision together.”
Liverpool may face stiff competition from other Premier League sides, as Everton, Newcastle and West Ham have also been linked with the Holland Under-19s forward.
