Chelsea are lining up a bid for £15m-rated German attacker Andre Schurrle after their move for Wigan’s Victor Moses broke down, according to reports today.

Chelsea are lining up a bid for German winger Andre Schurrle after their move for Victor Moses broke down, according to the Metro.
The report claims that the Blues are looking to add one more winger to their ranks this summer, having already signed Eden Hazard and Marko Marin.
Wigan ace Victor Moses is believed to be Roberto Di Matteo’s prime target but he has been forced to look at alternatives after seeing a £4m bid rejected by Dave Whelan last week, and relations between the two clubs has become strained.
The Chelsea boss has now turned his attention to Bayer Leverkusen attacker Andre Schurrle, with scouts said to be watching the 21-year-old while he’s away with the Germany squad at Euro 2012.
The Metro suggest the European champions will open the bidding at £7m but Leverkusen rate the player at nearer £15m, while Italian giants AC Milan are also said to be monitoring Schurrle’s situation and could provide stiff competition to Chelsea for the players signature.
FT Verdict
Schurrle looks like an excellent prospect but it’s unlikely Chelsea will pay £15m for him this summer.

Number one target Victor Moses already has bags of Premier League experience so would prove to be a less risky purchase than the German, and by the sounds of it, he will also be the cheaper of the two. I still see Moses moving to Stamford Bridge.
