Cavani To Demand Move?
Reported Chelsea target Edinson Cavani may be about to request a move away from Napoli after his wife fled Naples after being mugged for her £14,500 watch
With the summer transfer window in full swing, Football Talk will be keeping you up-to-date with all the latest transfer news throughout the summer. Today, Chelsea may have received a boost in their pursuit of Edinson Cavani.
Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani may be about to request a move away from Napoli after his wife fled Naples after being mugged for her £14,500 watch.
The reported Chelsea target is currently in Manchester preparing for the upcoming Olympic Games but has now been joined by his wife, Maria Soledad, after she was mugged by two men while walking to her car.
The Cavani’s are said to have been left badly shaken by the latest attack, which comes just weeks after their home was burgled while Napoli team-mate Merek Hamsik’s wife’s was car-jacked last year.
According to the Mirror, Cavani is wanted by both Chelsea and Juventus this summer and the players agent, Claudio Anellucci, has hinted the 25-year-old may be about to reconsider his Napoli future after this latest attack.
“It is not a good moment, but they are trying to get over it,” he said.
“She has left Naples to join Cavani. It is difficult to get used to the idea that these sort of things can happen to you.
“It is true that incidents of this type can happen to anybody, but the truth is they happen too often.”
Anellucci is quoted as saying by the Mirror.
Should Cavani demand a move, he will not be short of takers. However, the main stumbling block to a potential move will be his price-tag, with Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis recently claiming it would take a bid of £78m to land the talented striker.
“Cavani is not for sale, and I’ve never had any contact from Juventus.
“But if I get an offer from Torino, or anywhere else, of 100m Euros (£78million)…”
De Laurentiis is quoted as saying by the Mirror.
