Walcott, who scored in Arsenal’s 2-2 draw with Kitchee on Sunday morning, has revealed that his agent is continuing talks with Arsenal over his new deal but claimed he’s not too worried about it all, pointing to the fact his last contract took six months to agree, and he’s just concentrating on gaining his fitness ahead of the new season.
The former Southampton youngster then hinted he feels his representatives will eventually come to an agreement with Arsenal, therefore suggesting he sees his future in North London.
Quoted in the Daily Star, Walcott said:
“The club and my agent are talking but it is a slow process and my last contract took six months to agree – but it will come.
“We’ll see what happens but I am not too bothered about it. I am keen to work with the team just trying to get fit and there is still got a long way to go yet.”
