Liverpool are eyeing a £7m move for former Everton midfielder Manuel Fernandes, according to the Mirror.
The Portuguese international currently plays for Besiktas but had spells on loan with Liverpool’s mersey rivals Everton in 2007 and 2008. The player is believed to be keen on a return to England this summer and new Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers is now weighting up a £7m move.
Fernandes was once regarded as one of the most exciting youngsters in Europe but has never really settled at any of his clubs so far in his career.
After starting life at Benfica, the midfielder came to England when he joined Portsmouth on loan before returning to the Premier League the year after with Everton. Spanish side Valencia then bought took him to Spain but after just one season in La Liga he was sent back to Everton on loan before being sold to Besiktas in 2011.
Despite showing some good form in Turkey last season, the 26-year-old could be on the move again this summer and the Mirror claim Liverpool are one of several clubs keeping tabs on his situation.
