Despite the transfer window being closed, there is always transfer gossip doing the rounds in the papers and we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest news during the coming months. Today, Robert Lewandowski hints at a move next summer.
Robert Lewandowski has hinted he could be set for a move away from Borussia Dortmund next summer amid reported interest from Chelsea and Manchester United, according to the Daily Mail.
The striker has only two years to run on his current contract at Dortmund and it’s looking increasingly unlikely he will extend that deal with several of Europe’s top clubs looking to offer him a big-money move away.
The Poland international is a long-term target for Manchester United and Chelsea, with the Blues understood to have made enquiries over his availability earlier this summer, while Juventus and Bayern Munich have also been linked with the player.
Lewandowski has now confirmed he’s keeping his options open and hinted that he could be on the move at the end of the season:
‘I don’t set myself any limits. I don’t know what will be after this season.
‘I can’t and don’t want to rule out anything. This would not be professional.’
‘I have another two years on my contract. This is a long time. I don’t have to decide today if I extend it or not. But, like I said, I only concentrate on Borussia right now.’
He’s quoted as saying in the Daily Mail
Lewandowski has become one of the most sought-after strikers in Europe after an impressive season last term saw him net 30 goals as Dortmund secured a league and cup double.
