Chelsea Transfer News: Blues Line-up £30m January Bid For Midfielder
Chelsea are set to launch a £30m bid for Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini after David Moyes admitted he would be sold for the right price this January.
Despite the transfer window being closed, there is always transfer gossip doing the rounds in the papers and we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest news during the coming months. Today, Chelsea are linked with Marouane Fellaini.
Chelsea are set to launch a £30m bid for Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini after David Moyes admitted he could be sold for the right price this January, according to the Daily Mail.
The giant Belgian cast doubt over his future after publicly admitting he plans to leave the Toffees either in the winter transfer window or next summer. Quoted in the Telegraph last week, he said:
“I am just starting my fifth season at Everton, this will be one of my last,”
“I have seen everything. In January or at the end of the season I will turn to another club or championship.”
These comments are believed to have angered boss David Moyes and the Scot gave the 24-year-old a dressing down to let him know he won’t tolerate such behavior.
The Everton manager has now admitted that the player could be on his way as early as January, should the club receive the right offer. When asked about the chance of Fellaini leaving, Moyes is quoted by the Daily Mail as saying:
‘I won’t say there’s no chance in the next window because everybody is available throughout the world if the offer is right,’ Moyes said.
‘But one thing I know is the transfer window is closed so he’s not going anywhere right now.’
The report claims Chelsea are ready to test Everton’s resolve with a £30m January offer for the former Standard Liege man.
