Chelsea outcast Florent Malouda could finally be handed a way out of Stamford Bridge with Vasco da Gama hoping to lure the midfielder to Brazil this January, according to talkSPORT.
The French midfielder has been forced to train with the youth squad in recent months after falling out-of-favour under Roberto Di Matteo.
He is almost certain to make his exit from West London in January and Santos recently confirmed their interest in snapping up the former Lyon man.
However, Juninho Pernambucano has now revealed that his club Vasco de Gama are also keen to bring the 32-year-old to Brazil and he has called Malouda to discuss a potential move, but claims the deal could be difficult due to financial reasons.
“I called him to say I want him to play with me. The club is keen but so far it is not possible for economic reasons,”
“I think with his quality he could bring a lot to Brazilian football. I still hope he can come here.”
Juninho is quoted as saying by talkSPORT
A move this winter would bring to an end a five-year stay at Stamford Bridge for Malouda, who made the move to England from Lyon in 2007, and would be a disappointing end to his Blues career.
