Unsettled Striker Heading Back To Arsenal In January?
On-loan Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner could be forced to return to the club in January if his situation at Juventus doesn’t change, according to the Mirror.
Despite the transfer window being closed, there is always transfer gossip doing the rounds in the papers and we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest news during the coming months. Today, Nicklas Bendtner could leave Juventus in January.
On-loan Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner could be forced to return to the club in January if his situation at Juventus doesn’t change, according to the Mirror.
The Danish forward joined the Italian champions in the summer on a season-long loan deal, with an option to buy next summer, after falling out of favour at the Emirates.
However, Bendtner’s career at Juve hasn’t quite gone to plan with the 24-year-old struggling to establish himself in manager Antonio Conte’s first team plans.
According to his agent Tom Brooks, the lack of playing time is already frustrating the striker and they are ready to assess their options in January if the situation doesn’t change soon.
“The boy is happy at Juventus, even if clearly he would like to play more. When he is on the field more regularly, he’ll be even happier.
“Why isn’t he playing? In all honesty, you’d have to ask Antonio Conte. Every player wants to play more and do his job. Nicklas has patience and respects the club, his team-mates and the decisions of the coach.
“However, he is too strong a player to stay on the bench, so it’s not good for him or for Juventus to keep him there. If it continues like this, we will consider our options. Could that be from January? We’ll talk about it over the next few weeks.
“He absolutely does not regret this decision, as he wanted to play in the Champions League and for a club of this level. It is true he turned down proposals from Siena and Fiorentina, but he couldn’t let this opportunity pass by.
“The important thing is that he starts to spend more time on the pitch so he can do his job. Everyone respects him and he never complains, but this situation is not good and, when he is out of patience, we will consider our options.”
Brooks is quoted as saying in the Mirror.
With Arsenal currently short of options up front, could manager Arsene Wenger give Bendtner a chance to resurrect his Gunners career? Many would say it’s unlikely but stranger things have happened in the world of football.

Despite calls from fans to spend money on a proven striker this January, we all know Arsene is likely to go for a cheap alternative if one’s available to him, and he won’t have to pay a penny to bring Big-Ben back to the club.
Bendtner could hardly do a lot worse than our current crop of strikers, that’s for sure. While he never really endeared himself to the Emirates faithful, Bendtner did have a habit of scoring some important goals. Something we could certainly do with right now!
