Man City vs Spurs Preview, Team News, Likely Line-ups & Predicted Score

Man City welcome Tottenham to the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon. Here is a preview with team news, likely line-ups and predicted score for the big game.

Etihad Stadium Man City

Manchester City welcome Tottenham Hotspur to the Etihad Stadium for the first part of ‘Super Sunday’.

The defending Premier League champions go into the game off the back of another disappointing outing the in Champions League after a 2-2 draw at home to Ajax leaves them on the brink of elimination at the group stages.

City are also off the pace in the league and currently sit third and could be five points behind rivals United by the time they kick off against Spurs.

The visitors also have their problems after last weekends hugely disappointing 1-0 loss to Wigan at White Hart Lane left them sitting in sixth place in the table. However they cruised to their first win of the season in the Europa League with a 3-1 win over Maribor on Thursday night.

Team News

Roberto Mancini will once again be without defender Joleon Lescott and midfielder James Milner due to injury, and they are joined by Micah Richards and Jack Rodwell on the sidelines.

David Silva may be fit enough for a place on the bench while Brazilian right back Maicon is available after being named on the bench against Ajax.

Tottenham are sweating on the fitness of midfielder Sandro who is struggling with a calf strain, but the Brazilian is expected to shake it off in time to play.

Andre Villas-Boas is set to recall Brad Friedel in goal with Hugo Lloris returning to the bench after his outing on Thursday against Maribor. Mousa Dembele, Scott Parker (Achilles), Benoit Assou-Ekotto and Younes Kaboul all remain on the sidelines.

Predicted Score

Tottenham will have their work cut out to take all three points on Sunday as they look to end City’s impressive 34-game unbeaten home run at the Etihad. Spurs have pushed the champions close on a couple of occasions and we think they will give them a run for their money again this weekend. Man City 1-1 Tottenham.

Rearguard shud be Kyle, Dawson, Caulker, Vertonghen, where Spurs have height, experience, aggression, youth/speed ( Caulker ). Upfront, Adebayor is proven and all round effectiveness to link with present hot form of Defoe. Dempsey to stand by.

    I’d say:

Subs of Pantilimon, Lescott, Kolarov, Nasri, Dzeko, Sinclair, Balitelli
