Fergie’s Summer Shopping List Revealed?

Sneijder, Man United target?

Written by Thom Alexander.

After yesterday’s somewhat uncomfortable revelation that the official Man United site had designated a squad page for Mesut Ozil, there were further insights into Sir Alex Ferguson’s transfer shopping list today. Despite claiming that the page was a “technical error”, it appears that these “errors” have been repeated rather frequently.

Fans are able to see the potential targets by altering the last two digits of the above Ozil url to any number between 67-86. The link seems to suggest that the Manchester United manager was after the great and the good of European football this summer, with names such as Di Maria, Balotelli, Aguero, Khedira, Sneijder, Kjaer, Chiellini, Cole, Ballack and Raul included on the official site site.

Whether this suggests that this summer’s recruitment drive is not yet over, or that Ferguson was unsuccessful in his moves this summer ,remains unclear, but the quality of the targets remains undoubted if a little surprising.

What do you think of these potential targets? Is this slip up damaging to the club? Is Fergie’s shopping over? Let us know!

It isn’t a shopping list, it’s a databse of players whose names have appeared on the website. Their names are on the website as their is a “Gossip” feature that pokes fun at the ridiculous amounts of players being linked with the club, If you change enough of the digits in the URL you can find any player who has played against United in recent times. These players you have listed are just lumped together as they have all been linked recently.

they have a rumour mill section on the website and each of those players have been mentioned, so each one has had a profile created, because the site as an automated profile creation which whenever a name is said a profile is made

A talksperson from manutd.com yesterday explained that when a player is linked to United they create a profile on him. Just with his name and position.

Why they do that is beyond me, and it might as well be some kind of lame excuse for covering up a blooper. But I do find it strange that the people controlling the website knows about Sir Alex wish list for the summer window, and I find it hard to believe that potential transfer targtes is unveiled to that many insiide the club, excepts of the ones working specific around transfers.

When the press link United with a player they give that player an ID number, and way the site works means that the system automaticly makes a profile and posts it to the site.
