Chelsea Ready To Trigger £48m Falcao Clause And Pay Him £200k A Week
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is ready to spend whatever it takes to land Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao and will trigger his £48m buy-out clause.
Despite the transfer window being closed, there is always transfer gossip doing the rounds in the papers and we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest news during the coming months. Today, Chelsea are reported to be ready to bid for Radamel Falcao.
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is ready to spend whatever it takes to land Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao, according to the Mirror.
The report claims the Blues have been tracking the Colombian striker for months and Abramovich is believed to be ready to active his £48m buy-out clause and is prepared to make him the clubs highest earner by offering him £200,000-a-week to move to Stamford Bridge.
Falcao has continued his spectacular goal-scoring form this season by bagging 5 goals during a 6-0 thrashing of Deportivo last weekend, taking his tally to 16 in just 14 games so far this season. The Mirror claim Chelsea will launch a January bid to land the 26-year-old but are willing to wait until the summer if it means getting their man and are hopeful of beating Manchester City to his signature.
Spaniard Fernando Torres has hit some form recently, scoring 5 goals in his last 3 appearances, but it seems judging by this report that the European champions are still looking to add to their options up front and should Falcao move to Stamford Bridge, he would form a devastating attack alongside the likes of Juan Mata, Eden Hazard and Oscar.
