Agent Confirms United’s Interest In Italian Playmaker

The agent of Marco Verratti claims Manchester United are interested in signing the PSG midfielder with boss Sir Alex Ferguson said to be a huge fan of the youngster, according to the Express.
The 20-year-old central-midfielder has established himself in the PSG first team this season after joining from Pescara last summer, and has become one of the most exciting young talents in Europe after some eye-catching display’s for the French outfit.
The Express claim United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is looking to sign a midfielder in the summer with Nani expected to leave and veteran Paul Scholes coming to the end of his illustrious career, so the Scot is understood to have highlighted midfield as an area that needs strengthening in the summer.
A player that seems to have caught Ferguson’s eye is Italian playmaker Verratti with the players agent, Donato di Campli, claiming the United supremo is tracking his client but he faces stiff competition from clubs in Italy as well as Spanish giants Barcelona.
“Many Italian clubs have contacted me to know the status of Verratti, but they are not the only ones to have done so.
“Big clubs in Spain and England are also interested in him. Barcelona and Manchester United are in the front row.
“Sir Alex Ferguson really likes Marco.” di Campli is quoted as saying by the Express
Verratti has made 27 appearances in all competitions for PSG this season and has already broken into the senior Italian national team set up, earning three caps and scoring one goal so far.

He’s certainly a huge talent who has the best years ahead of him, and there is no better manager to fulfill your potential under than Sir Alex, but we’ll have to wait and see whether the United boss decides to follow up his reported interest with a formal move in the summer.
