Tottenham came from behind to beat West Ham 3-2 at Upton Park on Monday night to climb above Chelsea into third place in the Premier League table and not for the first time this season they had Gareth Bale to thank for the win.
The Welsh wizard was at his scintillating best opening the scoring with a well-taken strike from the edge of the box before grabbing an injury-time winner with a spectacular 30-yard effort into the top corner.
Shortly after the game, Bale took to his official Twitter account to hail the performance of the team and admitted it was nice for him to score the winner in a London derby, before thanking the fans for their supportive tweets and promising they’ll try not to leave is so late during the remaining 11 Premier League games:
Spurs are now four points clear of rivals Arsenal heading into this weekends vital north London derby at White Hart Lane and a win for Andre Villas-Boas men will see them firmly on course for a top-four finish, at least.
