German Playmaker Admits United Move Is ‘Attractive’
Borussia Dortmund playmaker Mario Gotze has admitted a move to Man Utd is ‘attractive’ but claims a move away from Germany is not part of his immediate plans.
Despite the transfer window being closed there is still plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Mario Gotze admits a move to Manchester United is attractive.
Borussia Dortmund playmaker Mario Gotze has admitted being linked with clubs such as Manchester United is ‘attractive’ to him but claims a move away from Germany is not part of his immediate plans, according to the Daily Mail.
The 20-year-old German international has become one of the most highly-rated youngsters in Europe after a string of impressive displays both in the Bundesliga and Champions League for Dortmund in recent seasons.
Despite his tender age, Gotze has already racked up over 100 first team appearances for the German champions as well as earning 20 caps for his country, and the Mail claim he’s attracting interest from some of Europe’s super-powers.
The attacking midfielder has now opened the door to a potential switch to the Premier League after naming Man Utd as one of the clubs who he finds ‘attractive’, but revealed that any move away from Germany is still some way off in his thinking.
‘Clubs such as Real Madrid, Barcelona or Manchester United are attractive, other top leagues would help me develop.
‘But I’m not thinking of that at the moment,’
‘I’m happy in Dortmund and very happy how things are going. Therefore, it is still a bit away’ Gotze is quoted as saying by the Mail.
Gotze only recently signed a new contract at the Westfalenstadion and the player admitted he wouldn’t have committed his future to the club if he intended on moving any time soon. He continued:
‘Yes [the contract was a sign he would stay in Dortmund], otherwise I would not be renewed. Then there would have been no reason for it.’

Personally, I’d love to see Gotze come to the Premier League one day. He’s a superb talent and would be an asset to any team in the world. Considering he’s still just 20 years old he has the world at his feet and has the potential to go on to become one of the true greats.
Hopefully he can fulfill that talent in England and it seems he’d be open to a move to Old Trafford at some point in the future, although the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona may have something to say about it!
