Chelsea may finally land long-term target Hulk this summer after the striker asked to leave Zenit St Petersburg at the end of the season, according to the Metro.
The report claims Hulk joined Zenit from Porto in September in a £40m deal after Chelsea had seen two offers rejected by the Portuguese outfit, but it seems he has struggled to adapt to live in Russia.
The 26-year-old has only managed to score 2 goals in 8 league games so far and the Metro suggests he’s become frustrated with manager Luciano Spalletti and has now asked to leave at the end of the season.
Hulk is currently away on international duty with Brazil and played in Thursday’s night’s 2-2 draw with Italy but before the game he was asked about his future by reporters and the striker opened the door to a move to Chelsea after declaring his love for the Premier League.
‘My future? I love the Premier League,’
‘The Premier League is a great competition with great clubs. If I have time, I watch the matches on television.’ Hulk is quoted as saying by the Express
The newspaper claims Chelsea are expected to sign a big-money striker this summer and hold a serious interest in Hulk as well as Radamel Falcao and Wilfried Bony, but they may have to dig deep if they’re to land the powerful Brazilian forward as Zenit would demand around £45m for his services.
