Vidic Set For United Exit As Ferguson Prepares To Cash In
Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic is expected to leave Old Trafford this summer with boss Sir Alex Ferguson ready to cash in on the ageing centre back.
Despite the transfer window being closed there is still plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Nemanja Vidic is set to leave Man Utd this summer.
Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic is expected to leave Old Trafford this summer with boss Sir Alex Ferguson ready to cash in on the ageing centre-back, according to the Express.
Vidic has been a main-stay in United’s back four since making the move to England from Spartak Moscow in 2006 and has racked up over 250 appearances during a trophy-laden seven years at Old Trafford.
However, the 31-year-old has been hampered by two serious knee injuries over the last two seasons and it seems manager Sir Alex Ferguson is ready to cut his loses this summer.
The Express claim the Scot is prepared to listen to offers in the region of £10m for his skipper as he prepares to sell several squad players at the end of the season in order to generate transfer funds, with the likes of Javier Hernandez and Anderson also in the firing line.
The newspaper suggests Vidic will have just one year left on his United contract this summer and Italian giants AC Milan are said to be interested in taking the Serbian defender to Serie A to partner him with Philippe Mexes.

Vidic has only managed 18 appearances so far this season and while he’s still a top defender on his day and his sale may prove to be hugely unpopular amongst the Old Trafford faithful, his injury problems look likely to end short his career at United.
