Brazilian Defender Responds To Transfer Reports

Despite the transfer window being closed there is still plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Dede responds to rumours he’ll be heading to the Premier League this summer.
Brazilian defender Dede has played down reports suggesting he could be set to leave Vasco da Gama this summer with Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United all understood to be interested, according to the Express.
The report claims Vasco da Gama are looking to cash-in on the £15m-rated centre-back at the end of the season to help ease their financial troubles and the Brazilian outfit are believed to have invited interested parties to come forward with offers this summer.
The Express suggest that the 24-year-old could be heading to the Premier League with Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United all thought to be interested but they could face stiff competition from AC Milan, Benfica and Corinthians who’re also understood to be monitoring the powerful stopper.
However, Dede insists he knows nothing about the speculation and will continue to focus on doing his best for Vasco, but did hint that he could be open to staying in Brazil after calling Corinthians a ‘great club’ who he’d be happy to play for.
“I’ll keep focusing on my job.”
“I don’t know anything. Corinthians are a great club and I won’t say I wouldn’t like to play there.” Dede is quoted as saying in the Express

With Jamie Carragher retiring at the end of the season, Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers may be in the market for another centre-back this summer while the Express claim United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is on the look-out for a long-term replacement for Nemanja Vidic.
Chelsea captain John Terry isn’t getting any younger either so it wouldn’t be a surprise if the Premiership trio were in for Dede this summer, but it seems they may have a fight on their hands to lure him away from Brazil.
