Man Utd Ready To ‘Outmuscle’ Arsenal In Race For Chilean Attacker
Manchester United are set to ‘outmuscle’ Premier League rivals Arsenal in the chase to sign Barcelona attacker Alexis Sanchez this summer, according to reports
Despite the transfer window being closed there is still plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Manchester United are set to rival Arsenal for Alexis Sanchez.
Manchester United are set to ‘out-muscle’ rivals Arsenal in the chase to sign Barcelona attacker Alexis Sanchez this summer, according to the Express.
Sanchez joined Barcelona in 2011 from Italian outfit Udinese and enjoyed an encouraging first season in Spain, scoring 12 goals in his 25 league appearances. However, he’s failed to maintain that form managing just 4 league goals so far this campaign and he’s struggled to hold down a regular place in Tito Vilanova’s starting eleven leading to question marks over his future at the Nou Camp.
The Express claims Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has already expressed his interest in luring the 24-year-old to the Emirates, while former Udinese Sporting Director Fabrizio Larini suggested recently that the Gunners would be the ‘perfect fit’ for Sanchez.
However, it seems Arsenal will face stiff competition for his signature with the newspaper claiming United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is a huge admirer of the Chilean international’s and is ready to table an offer this summer.
Sanchez would be a great signing for either Arsenal or United if they could pull it off. He hasn’t shown his true potential in a Barca shirt but he’s been hampered by niggling injuries and a lack of first team action so hopefully he’d rediscover his best form if he’s given a run of games in England.

But the Premier League duo won’t have a clean run at the attacker with the Express suggesting Italian giants Inter Milan and Juventus are also in the hunt and are keen to take him back to Serie A this summer.
