Wayne Rooney: ‘Done Deal’ To PSG Or Set To Sign New United Deal?
Contradicting reports on Wayne Rooney’s future today with sources claiming a deal to PSG is already done while others suggest he’s set for a new deal at United
Despite the transfer window being closed there is still plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, more on the future of Wayne Rooney.
Some contradicting reports regarding the future of Wayne Rooney today with sources close to PSG claiming a deal to take him to France is already agreed while some newspapers suggest the striker is set for a new deal at Man Utd.
First up and the Daily Mail are one of several news outlets who carry quotes from former Paris Saint-Germain adviser, Michel Moulin, who claimed on French TV that Rooney’s move to Ligue 1 this summer is already a ‘done deal’.
‘I announce to you from trusted sources: Rooney to PSG is done. He will be at PSG next season.’ Moulin is quoted as saying in the Mail.
The Mail suggest that Rooney has been strongly linked with a move to PSG in recent weeks after the strikers future was thrown into doubt after he was left out of United’s Champions League clash with Real Madrid at Old Trafford.
However, the Independent are reporting that despite the claims of a summer move to PSG, Rooney is in fact set to sign a new contract at United and commit his long-term future to the champions-elect.
The newspaper suggests that the 27-year-old’s relationship with Sir Alex Ferguson has ‘thawed’ following his Champions League omission against Madrid and PSG would be interested if Rooney became available, but it’s the Independents understanding that the club will open talks with Rooney over a new contract this summer and have no plans to sell the England ace.

Some interesting stuff and it’s down to who you believe at this point. Personally, I think it’s highly unlikely Rooney will leave United this summer or end up at PSG if he did, but we’ll have to see what happens at the end of the season.
