Latest transfer rumours. Today, Arsenal are linked with a £12m raid for Juvents defender Stephan Lichtsteiner and Spurs target £30m-rated playmekr Joao Moutinho

With the summer transfer window set to re-open, there is plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Arsenal are linked with a Juvents defender and Spurs target Joao Moutinho.

Gunners linked with Lichtsteiner

First up and according to reports in Italy, Arsenal are preparing a £12m raid on Juventus for defender Stephan Lichtsteiner this summer. The Swiss international has enjoyed another excellent season in Serie A and it seems his form has caught the eye of Gunners boss Arsene Wenger.

Arsenal could be on the look-out for a new right back if Bacary Sagna leaves the club and Forza Italia claim Wenger has identified Lichtsteiner as the ideal man to replace the Frenchman and is prepared to test Juve’s resolve with a £12m bid.

The 29-year-old would offer an experienced head and someone young Carl Jenkinson could learn from but it remains to be seen whether the newly crowned Serie A champions would be prepared to sell one of their key first team players.

AVB targets Moutinho

Next up and the Sun are reporting that Tottenham Hotspur will get over their Champions League heart-ache by renewing their interest in Porto playmaker Joao Moutinho.

Spurs narrowly missed out on the top-four on the final day of the season and boss Andre Villas-Boas is expected to make several changes to his squad this summer as they try to finally break into the Champions League places next year.

The Sun suggest the first signing the north Londoners will look to tie up is that of long-term target Moutinho, who came close to signing for Spurs last summer, with AVB understood to be keen to link-up with the Portuguese international having worked with him during his time with Porto.

However, the 26-year-old wont come cheap with the newspaper suggesting it may take up to £30m to persuade the Portuguese champions into selling the talented attacker.

Even if Sagna stays, we need a very reliable right back. I haven’t seen much of the Serie A so can’t really decide if Juve right back is the man. Whatever we do this summer, we must get one centre back and a defensive or holding midfielder. Aside that we probably have one of the strongest team in the BPL right now.

Cograts ARS and all fellow fans. Many thought Arsenal will not make it but here they are at Top four. Gonzela Heugain(Real Madrid), Richard(Man City), Lyon DM and Julio Cesar(QPR) will ok to give ARS cup next season. Thanks

Come on guys dont start with mischief.
Dont even go there namely that of getting rid of Sagna. No sir, we need old wise heads. I am fed up of supporting a team of novices who have no one to teach them. Look at how Fergie handled Giggs, Scholes and Ferdinand? Its their presence and occasional mixing them with you that propels the youngsters to higher reaches of the game.

We need to keep TV5 even if he has to move to DM. Look what happened when Arteta got taken off. We were lucky to be at Newcasstle, what would have happened if the opposition was Spuds, Liverpool? Its also good bwhen you have oldies coming which makes it impossible to overuse players.

Bringing in another, the same age mind you, would not be bad. How can you compare bac to les or scholes? Sagna has been very inconsistent, broken his leg , twice in the last year! He’s not committed, admitting he would be open to a move. Ox did fine tactically when he came on and paired w/ Ramsey. So, how could buying a experienced player COMING FROM CHAMPS JUVE be bad?

Sagna is not the kind of left-back we need in arsenal again. Moreso, we need power play striker with bundle of goal sense, also need a strong defensive midfielder to replace the vaccum song left. Aside these, others are additional.

Moutinho will leave for a CL club, he has the quality for it and more clubs will be interested. He likes AVB from his Porto days, bt it would be a huge surprise.

But guys, don’t u think we need a defensive midfielder, a box-to-box one like Fellaini to take over from Arteta so that Arteta can play his offensive role? signing a reliable right-back and a sharp striker is not a bad idea (JOvetic & Litch)but we need a defensive midfielder. Diaby is a fine player but he has proved over the years that he is not reliable. maybe he needs time to recover.
