Alcantara Tells Barcelona He Wants Man Utd Move After Agreeing 5-Year Deal
Man Utd have edged closer to the signing of Thiago Alcantara after the midfielder returned from talks in the UK to tell Barca he want’s to move to Old Trafford
With the summer transfer window set to open, there is plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Man Utd edge closer to signing Thiago Alcantara.
Manchester United have edged closer to completing the signing of Thiago Alcantara after the midfielder returned from successful talks in England to tell Barcelona he want’s to move to Old Trafford this summer, according to the Daily Star.
Alcantara has emerged as one of Europe’s hottest properties after a stunning MOTM display in the final of the European Under-21 Championships last week, with his hat-trick guiding Spain to a 4-2 win over Italy to retain the trophy.
The Star claims United are desperate to bring the talented midfielder to the Premier League this summer and have already agreed personal terms over a five-year-deal with the 22-year-old ahead of a £17m switch.
Barcelona have been trying to persuade the Italian-born ace to remain in Spain but it appears Alcantara is determined to make the move to United. Spanish journalist and Sky Sports News regular, Guillem Ballague, has also claimed that the player has now returned from Manchester to inform the La Liga champions he wants to leave for United:
Thiago's dad just back from Manchester. He wants to meet FCB to tell them his son wants to go to United. But FCB want 2 convince him 2 stay

United were alerted to a huge decrease in Alcantara’s buy-out clause after he failed to play in a certain amount of games last season for Barca, and it now seems that oversight has cost the Spanish giants one of the most promising young talents in Europe. But Barcelona’s loss is United’s gain and Thiago looks set to become the champions first major signing of the summer.
