Man Utd and Spurs have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Fredy Guarin with the midfielder’s agent confirming he has no intention of leaving Inter Milan.
With the summer transfer window set to open, there is plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Fredy Guarin won’t be joining Manchester United or Tottenham.
Manchester United and Tottenham have been dealt a decisive blow in their pursuit of Fredy Guarin with the midfielder’s agent confirming he has no intention of leaving Inter Milan this summer, according to the Express.
The 26-year-old moved to the San Siro from Porto only last summer and enjoyed an excellent debut season in Italy, putting in a string of impressive displays which lead to him scoring 10 goals in 34 appearances.
His form appears to have caught the eye of clubs in England with the Express claiming Manchester United and Tottenham are both keen on trying to lure the classy midfielder to the Premier League this summer. However, the Colombian international’s agent, Marcelo Ferreyra, has revealed his client has no intention of leaving Inter and insists United and Spurs are not in their thinking.
“He wants to stay at Inter, he is happy and wants to become a champion in these colours.
“Manchester United, Tottenham and Anzhi are not a part of our sporting project.
“We are not interested in going to another club as my client wants to win with the Inter shirt.” Ferreyra is quoted as saying by the Express
New United boss David Moyes is expected to bring in a new central midfielder this summer following the retirement of Paul Scholes while Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas is also believed to be on the look-out for midfield reinforcements, but it appears the duo will have to look elsewhere following Ferreyra’s comments.
