Man Utd Transfer News: United Dealt Blow In Midfielder Pursuit
The Metro are reporting that Man Utd have been dealt a huge blow in their pursuit of Kevin Strootman with PSV insisting the midfielder won’t be sold this summer
With the summer transfer window now open, there is plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Manchester United have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Kevin Strootman.
The Metro are reporting that Manchester United have been dealt a huge blow in their pursuit of Kevin Strootman with PSV insisting the midfielder won’t be sold this summer.
The report claims the champions have been keeping tabs on the Dutch international for some time with previous boss Sir Alex Ferguson believed to have failed in a bid to bring him to Old Trafford in January.
With Paul Scholes now retired and doubts continuing over the long-term fitness of Darren Fletcher, new boss David Moyes is understood to be keen on strengthening his midfield options and the Metro suggest Strootman was high on his priority list.
However, it looks like United will have to wait a little longer if they want to land the 23-year-old, as PSV technical director Marcel Brands claims the player is going nowhere this summer.
‘Strootman we do not want to lose, he knows himself he will stay one more year at PSV.’
So it appears the Dutch outfit are determined to hang on to their star man after losing a number of first team players this summer, but will it be enough to deter United from making a tempting bid? We’ll have to wait and see….
