Arsenal Set To Rival Spurs With €25m Bid For Brazilian Attacker
Arsenal will go-head-to-head with Tottenham for the signature of Bernard with the Gunners ready to table an offer in the region of €25m for the Brazilian winger
With the summer transfer window now open, there is plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Arsenal are set to table a bid for Spurs target Bernard.
Arsenal will go-head-to-head with rivals Tottenham for the signature of Bernard with the Gunners expected to table an offer in the region of €25m for the Brazilian attacker, according to Brazilian outlet Otempo.
The 20-year-old currently plays for Atletico Mineiro and has attracted interest from throughout Europe after some eye-catching displays for Brazil at this summers Confederations Cup.
The report claims the likes of Tottenham, Porto, Borussia Dortmund and Shakhtar Donetsk have all been linked with a move for the exciting winger, but it seems Arsenal are now ready to steal a march on their rivals by submitting a record offer.
Otempo claim that Arsene Wenger and his scouts have put together an extensive report on the player studying his technical ability as well as off-field behaviour, and following meetings with his representative Giuliano Bertolucci in London, the north Londoners are now ready to submit a €25m offer within the next 10 days.
The report also suggests that a bid of €25m will be accepted by Atletico for the winger and Bernard would be keen to join Arsenal, so this looks like this transfer is certainly one to watch. Tottenham have already raided the Brazilian market with the £17m purchase of Paulinho so it will be interesting to see if they are prepared to match Arsenal reported offer. Either way, it looks as though Bernard could be playing in the Premier League next season with north London a likely destination.
