Chelsea Braced For £40m Defender Bid

Bayern Munich are ready to step up their interest in Chelsea defender David Luiz and are prepared to pay in excess of £40million for the Brazilians services.

With the summer transfer window now open, there is plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Bayern Munich are ready to make their move for David Luiz.

Bayern Munich are ready to step up their interest in Chelsea defender David Luiz and are prepared to pay in excess of £40m for his services, according to the Daily Mail.

The report claims that Pep Guardiola is keen to add to his defensive options this summer and has identified Luiz as the perfect man to play alongside Brazilian team mate Dante at the back in his new look side.

Luiz’s future at Stamford Bridge has surprisingly come under scrutiny following the arrival of Jose Mourinho this summer and reports have recently linked him with a move to Spanish giants Barcelona.

Chelsea insist Luiz is not for sale and Mourinho did his best to reassure fans he would be keeping hold of the 26-year-old when he said:

‘The potential is incredible, amazing. He [Luiz] always has to play. For me he is a central defender.’ Mourinho is quoted as saying by the Mail

However, rumours of a move refuse to go away and it seems Munich are now ready to fight Barcelona for his signature, with the Mail suggesting the German giants are prepared to pay in excess of £40m to land the afro-haired defender.

Luis has become a real fan-favourite at Stamford Bridge since he joined from Benfica in January 2011 and he signed a new five-year deal 12 months ago, so it would certainly be a shock if he was sold this summer.

The Brazilian is due to return to pre-season training today after being given extended leave after taking part in the Confederations Cup this summer and he’s expected to seek talks to clarify what role he’s to play in Jose Mourinho’s plans this season, so his future could become a lot clearer over the coming days.

David is a fantastic man. The happy one will rebrand him. He will pair well with terry, cahil, ivanovic & others. Anyway, all this all rumours. He is a player for mourinho. Terry can’t play all the games.

Jose we don’t need Money, we don’t need a replacement of Luiz, because he will not go anywhere. Jose we love you so so much, and don’t forget that you was been named the Happy One, and you can’t be the Happy One while we fans we are not happy. Think about that Jose, we need you and we need Luiz too, please don’t sell him, or if you sell him you will not finish your Contract, we will put you under presure as we did for Benitez last time.
