Unsettled Ozil Keen On Potential £35m Move To Old Trafford
Playmaker Mesut Ozil is unsettled at Real Madrid following their pursuit of Gareth Bale and would be open to making a move to Manchester United this summer.
With the summer transfer window in full swing, there is plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, could Mesut Ozil be heading to Manchester United?
Mesut Ozil is unsettled at Real Madrid due to their pursuit of Gareth Bale and would be open to making a move to Manchester United this summer, according to the Daily Mail.
United boss David Moyes appears keen to add a marquee name to his squad this summer and has so far been frustrated in his attempts to bring in a ball-playing midfielder.
However, the former Everton man could get his hands on one of Europe’s finest playmakers with the Mail claiming that the champions have been offered the chance to sign German international Mesut Ozil with Real Madrid understood to be willing to sell the 24-year-old for £35m to help finance their move for Tottenham’s Gareth Bale.
The report suggests that Ozil has become unsettled at the Bernabeu due to the La Liga clubs pursuit of the Welshman and his representatives are believed to have made it clear that he would be open to making a move to Old Trafford this summer.
Ozil snubbed a move to United in 2010 when he elected to join Madrid from Werder Bremen and while he’s become a key member of the first team during his time in Spain, it seems the potential arrival of Bale along with the acquisition on Isco has put his nose out of joint and he’s ready to quit Carlo Ancelotti’s side.
He would be a superb addition to David Moyes squad if United could get a deal done before the window shuts on the 2nd September, and he would certainly fill the creative void in the middle of the park.
