Tottenham vs Norwich Preview: Team News, Likely Line-Ups & Predicted Score
Tottenham welcome Norwich City to White Hart Lane on Saturday afternoon. Here is a preview for the game with team news, likely line-ups and predicted score.
Tottenham get back to Premier League action this weekend after the two week international break as they welcome Norwich City to White Hart Lane on Saturday afternoon.
After successive 1-0 victories over Crystal Palace and Swansea, Spurs lost 1-0 to north London rivals Arsenal last time out so they will be keen to get back to winning ways this weekend.
Summer signing Roberto Soldado has scored both of Tottenham’s goals so far this season, although both have come from the penalty spot, so Andre Villas-Boas will be hoping his side can register their first from open play on Saturday.
He should be able to call upon the creative skills of new signings Erik Lamela and Christian Eriksen after the duo were signed shortly before the north London Derby, although it remains to be seen whether both will start against the Canaries.
The visitors have endured a mixed start to the new season having won one, lost one and drawn the other so far but will take heart from the fact they managed to draw 1-1 in both Premier League games against Spurs last season.
Team News
AVB could hand starts to both Christian Eriksen and Erik Lamela this weekend following their arrivals from Ajax and Roma. Lamela made a lively cameo against the Gunners last time out and could come in for Gylfi Sigurdsson, who picked up a dead leg while away on international duty with Iceland.
Striker Emmanuel Adebayor won’t feature after being given permission to remain in Togo until Monday due to personal reasons.
Midfielders Etienne Capoue and Aaron Lennon are both out, while defender Vlad Chiriches is also unavailable as he waits for a work permit.
Norwich welcome back striker Gary Hooper who has trained this week after recovering from a shin injury. Defender Ryan Bennett is available again after a knee problem which he picked up in the Capital One Cup victory against Bury.
Midfielder Elliot Bennett continues to recover from a cruciate ligament injury, and boss Chris Hughton has no new injury concerns following the international break.
Likely Line-Ups
Predicted Score
Tottenham 2-0 Norwich: Spurs’ new-look side may need some time to gel properly, but they will have too much for Norwich to handle this weekend.
