Arsenal and Chelsea are among the clubs monitoring Edinson Cavani’s situation with the striker said to be contemplating his future at Paris Saint-Germain, according to the Express.
The Uruguayan hitman made a £50m move to PSG from Napoli in the summer and has made an encouraging start to life in Ligue 1, scoring 9 goals in his 12 appearances so far.
However, he’s often forced to play second fiddle to Zlatan Ibrahimovic and doesn’t always start in his favoured central position, which is occupied by the Swede. Reports emanating from France suggest Cavani is already growing unsettled at the club and has asked his advisers to discreetly investigate a potential summer move away.
The Express claim Arsenal and Chelsea have been alerted to the 26-year-old’s situation while Manchester City are also said to be keeping a close eye on how things develop over the coming months.
The Premier League trio were strongly linked with a move for Cavani in the summer before he eventually made the switch to PSG, and it seems they could get another chance to lure him to England just 12 months after missing out.
But they will have to fight off stiff competition from around Europe with the newspaper suggesting that the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich would also be interested should Cavani come back on the market.
