Agent Claims Arsenal Will Miss Out On Chelsea Outcast
A FIFA agent has claimed that Arsenal target and current Chelsea outcast Demba Ba is keen on a move to Turkey when the transfer window re-opens in January.
Although the summer transfer window is officially closed that doesn’t stop clubs working hard behind the scenes to prepare for future signings, so we’ll keep you up-to-date with all the latest gossip. Today, Arsenal look set to miss out on Demba Ba.
A FIFA agent has claimed that Arsenal target and Chelsea outcast Demba Ba is keen on a move to Turkey when the transfer window re-opens in January, according to the Express.
The Senegalese hitman has found first team football hard to come by this season under new boss Jose Mourinho, with Fernando Torres and Samuel Eto’o both ahead of him in the current pecking order.
Arsenal were strongly linked with a move for the 28-year-old during the closing stages of the summer window and were believed to be close to agreeing a £2m season-long loan deal until Chelsea pulled the plug at the last minute, saying they didn’t want to let him join a Premier League rival.
The Express claim the Gunners have retained their interest in Ba and were hoping to try and land him this winter with boss Arsene Wenger desperate to add more firepower to his squad as he’s heavily reliant on Olivier Giroud up front at present.
However, the newspaper suggests that the Blues remain reluctant to do business with their rivals and would favour a move abroad, and FIFA agent Ceylan Caliskan has claimed that the former Newcastle man is keen on securing a switch to Turkey.
“I talk closely with Demba Ba, he wants to play for a Turkish club but I can’t comment on a transfer yet.” Caliskan is quoted as saying by the Express.
The report states that Besiktas have already held ‘top secret’ talks with Ba’s representatives and they are firm favourites to sign him, but Galatasaray and Fenerbache are also said to be interested.
So it appears Arsenal’s bid to lure Ba to the Emirates will end in failure once again and Wenger will have to look elsewhere if he wants to add a striker to his ranks in January.
