Transfer News: United Miss Out On Belgian Starlet | Spurs In Contact Over Striker
Transfer News: Manchester United appear to have missed out on the signing of a Belgian youngster and Spurs are linked with a £7.5million Serie A striker.
Although the summer transfer window is officially closed that doesn’t stop clubs working hard behind the scenes to prepare for future signings, so we’ll keep you up-to-date with all the latest gossip. Today, Manchester United have missed out on a Belgian youngster and Spurs are linked with Mirko Vucinic.
United Miss Out On Belgian
First up and the Daily Mail are reporting that Manchester United have lost out in the race to sign Belgian youngster Hamidu Imran after he opted to join Anderlecht instead.
The 11-year-old is highly-rated in his homeland and has been compared to Romelu Lukaku due to his size and strength – which the on-loan Chelsea hitman also exhibited at a young age.
The Mail claim that David Moyes was keen for Imran to join United’s youth academy after the clubs scouts identified his potential, but the Premier League champions have missed out after the starlet elected to remain in Belgium and join Anderlecht.
The newspaper states that Moyes will continue to monitor the attackers progress over the coming years and has not ruled out trying to sign him in the future. United had previously watched Adnan Januzaj for some time before eventually luring him from Anderlecht when he was 16 and they may try and do something similar with Imran.
Spurs Linked With Vucinic
Next up and talkSPORT are reporting that the agent of Mirko Vucinic has contacted Tottenham about a potential £7.5m move after Juventus decided to sell the striker in January.
The Montenegro hitman has struggled to hold down a regular first team place at the Serie A champions this season – making just 3 league starts so far – with boss Antonio Conte opting to select the likes of Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente ahead of him.
talkSPORT claim that Juve have agreed to cash in on the 30-year-old when the transfer window re-opens in January and will accept a cut-price fee of £7.5million.
The report suggests that the players agent has already made contact with Spurs over a potential move to White Hart Lane, with boss Andre Villas-Boas understood to be on the look-out for striking reinforcements with his limp side scoring just nine league goals so far this season.
