Chelsea Ace Rejects Arsenal Move Talk
Chelsea striker Demba Ba has dismissed speculation linking him with a move to Arsenal by insisting he has heard nothing from the north Londoners about a move.
With the January transfer window just around the corner, managers will be working hard to identify potential new signings, so we’ll keep you up-to-date with all the latest transfer gossip. Today, Demba Ba rejects talk of a move to Arsenal.
Chelsea striker Demba Ba has dismissed speculation linking him with a move to Arsenal by insisting he has heard nothing from the north Londoners and is prepared to fight for his place in the Blues first team, according to Sky Sports News.
The Senegalese striker was strongly linked with a move to the Emirates in the summer with a season-long loan deal thought to be close before Jose Mourinho pulled the plug on deadline day.
Reports in recent weeks have suggested that Arsene Wenger may try again for the 28-year-old in January as he looks to bring in a striker to help aid the Gunners title push during the second half of the season.
However, Ba has dismissed the rumours claiming he has heard nothing from Arsenal about a potential move and insists he’s not looking to leave Stamford Bridge after finally seeing his first team chances improve in recent weeks.
“People talk a lot about me joining Arsenal, but there has never been an approach from them.
“There is nothing going on in this regard. Things are OK for me at the moment.
“It’s working, as the situation is turning around for me here bit by bit. I am getting more time on the pitch as a result of the injuries to our strikers Samuel Eto’o and Fernando Torres.
“You just need a bit of time to adapt when you change clubs. I’ve been in a process of adaptation while moving between West Ham, Newcastle and Chelsea.
“But as soon as I’m given the chance to prove myself, I take it so the fact that I’ve often been on the substitute’s bench is nothing serious.” Ba is quoted as saying by Sky Sports
Ba has started just three games for Chelsea this season, with a further 10 appearances coming from the substitutes bench, but it appears he’s not looking to move on when the transfer window re-opens next month.
Arsene Wenger is currently heavily reliant on Olivier Giroud but Ba’s comments mean Arsenal will have to look elsewhere if they are in the market for another striker this winter.
