Jose Mourinho has confirmed that key duo Frank Lampard and Branislav Ivanovic are set to be sidelined for the next three weeks, according to the Daily Mail.
The Blues remain two-points off league leaders Arsenal in third after a 3-0 win over Southampton on New Year’s Day with Fernando Torres, Willian and Oscar all getting themselves on the score-sheet.
However, they had to do it without the services of either Lampard or Ivanovic after both players were ruled out of the clash through injury.
Speaking after the game last night, Jose Mourinho was asked by reporters for an update on the duo’s fitness and the Mail claim he confirmed they will be out until the “last week of January” meaning they’ll miss the next three weeks.
Lampard suffered a muscular injury during Sunday’s 2-1 win over Liverpool at Stamford Bridge while defender Ivanovic picked up a knee problem in the same game.
The pair will now miss this weekend’s FA Cup clash with Derby County as well as Premier League games against Hull City, Manchester United and West Ham.
