By on January 29, 2014

Manchester City moved top of the Premier League with a 5-1 victory over Tottenham at White Hart Lane on Wednesday night.

The visitors took the lead early on through Sergio Aguero and despite further pressure, it remained 1-0 at the break. The games turning point came in the 51st minute when Danny Rose was sent off for an apparent foul on Dzeko in the area, but replays showed he won the ball. Yaya Toure converted the spot kick for 2-0 before Dzeko quickly made it 3-0 with a close range effort.

Etienne Capoue pulled one back before sub Jovetic and captain Kompany put a gloss on the result for City who now move above Arsenal to the top of the league.
