Wilshere, Giroud, Mertesacker + More: Players React On Twitter To Liverpool Loss
Several Arsenal players took to Twitter to apologise to the fans for their performance following a 5-1 loss to Liverpool on Saturday. See what they had to say.
Arsenal slumped to a disappointing 5-1 loss to Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday to relinquish top spot in the Premier League table.
The hosts raced into a 4-0 lead inside the opening 20 minutes thanks to goals from Martin Skrtel (2), Raheem Sterling and Daniel Sturridge as the Gunners were unable to deal with the intensity of the Merseysiders play.
The second half was played out in second gear with Sterling making it 5-0 shortly after the break before Mikel Arteta grabbed a consolation. The result saw the Gunners slip to second after Chelsea beat Newcastle United but they managed to stay above Manchester City who were held by Norwich City.
After the game, some of the Arsenal players took to Twitter to apologise to the fans for their performance and vow to make things right when they take on Manchester United on Wednesday night at the Emirates.
