Man Utd Tempt £30m Ace With £250,000-A-Week Deal As Moyes Eyes Spending Spree
Manchester United are offering Toni Kroos a mammoth £250,000-a-week contract to quit Bayern Munich and make A £30Mmillion move to Old Trafford this summer.
The January transfer window may have slammed shut but clubs will still be working hard behind the scenes at identifying targets for the summer, so we’ll bring you all the latest news, gossip and rumours. Today, Man Utd prepare a mega contract offer for Toni Kroos.
Manchester United are offering Toni Kroos a mammoth £250,000-a-week contract to quit Bayern Munich and make the move to Old Trafford this summer, according to the Mirror.
The German midfielders current deal at the Allianz Arena expires in less that 18 months time and he’s so far been unable to agree terms over an extension, with Bayern unwilling to meet his wage demands.
This has led to widespread speculation of a potential move to England this summer with United believed to be leading the race for the 24-year-old’s signature, and it seems David Moyes is going all-out to try and tempt the German international to Manchester.
The Mirror claim the defending champions have offered Kroos a £250,000-a-week deal and despite his excellent form of late, including a MOTM performance against Arsenal last week, Bayern are not afraid to lose the player as long as their £30m valuation is met.
The newspaper suggests that Moyes has big plans for the summer and he hopes Kroos will be the first part of a spending spree with other targets including Borussia Dortmund’s Ilkay Gundogan, Porto defender Eliaquim Mangala and Southampton left-back Luke Shaw.
It would certainly be a stunning coup if United could pull off the signing of Kroos as he’s a hugely talented player and would add another dimension to their midfield – which is an area that you’d expect Moyes to strengthen this summer as Michael Carrick is now approaching his twilight years, Tom Cleverley has been inconsistent while Marouane Fellaini has struggled for both form and fitness this season.
I’m sure United won’t be the only club interested in signing the German international but it will be difficult for the player to turn down the £250,000-a-week wages on offer at Old Trafford, despite the fact it looks likely they’ll miss out on Champions League football next season.
