Tottenham Hotspur are in Portugal to take on Benfica in the second leg of their Europa League tie. Here are the confirmed line-ups for both teams for the game:
Tottenham Hotspur are in Portugal to take on Benfica in the second leg of their Europa League tie and the north Londoners have a mountain to climb after losing the first leg 3-1 at White Hart Lane last week.
Tim Sherwood’s task has become that much harder with 10 first team players unavailable for the game, with defence a major issue for the Spurs coach. Jan Vertonghen is suspended while Michael Dawson, Vlad Chiriches and Younes Kaboul are all injured, so Sherwood has been forced to field a patched-up team for the game.
Sandro starts at the back alongside Zeki Fryers while Kyle Naughton and Danny Rose make up the back-four. Gylfi Sigurdsson, Aaron Lennon and Andros Townsend start in midfield while Roberto Soldado leads the attack.
Here are the confirmed line-ups for the game:
Benfica
Oblak, Maxi, Luisão, Garay, Siqueira, A. Gomes, Amorim, Salvio, Sulejmani, Djuricic, Cardozo
Subs:
Tottenham
Friedel; Naughton, Fryers, Sandro, Rose; Lennon, Bentaleb, Chadli, Sigurdsson, Townsend; Soldado.
Subs: Archer, Ball, Ogilvie, Veljkovic, Eriksen, Winks, Kane.
