Rodgers Confident Of Landing Bayern Munich Attacker As Part Of £50m Triple Swoop
Liverpool are preparing a £40m double swoop for Adam Lallana and Dejan Lovren and are also confident of agreeing a deal with Bayern Munich for Xherdan Shaqiri
As we approach the opening of the summer window clubs will be intensifying their efforts in the transfer market so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip. Today, Liverpool plot some ambitious transfer plans.
Liverpool are preparing a £40m double swoop on Southampton for Adam Lallana and Dejan Lovren and are also confident of agreeing a £10m deal with Bayern Munich to sign Xherdan Shaqiri, according to reports today.
The Reds have been strongly linked with Lallana recently and reports last week suggested a £20m bid had been submitted for the 26-year-old attacking midfielder, but the Saints are understood to be holding out for a fee of at least £25m.
It seems Brendan Rodgers is now ready to up the ante and will not only make a renewed bid for Lallana but will also go in for team mate Lovren, with the Mirror claiming that the Merseysiders are set to table a £40m double offer for the pair.
Lallana and Lovren have been two of Southampton’s stand-out performers in what’s been an impressive season for Mauricio Pochettino’s men that saw them comfortably secure a top-eight finish in the Premier League.
It’s no surprise the duo are attracting interest from the likes of Liverpool and although the South Coast club are desperate to hold on to their key men this summer, they will find it extremely difficult to resist should this £40m bid come to fruition.
The Mirror are also reporting that Rodgers is confident he can agree a deal worth in the region of £10m for Bayern Munich attacker Xherdan Shaqiri. The diminutive Swiss international has failed to establish himself as a first team regular since making the move from Basil 18 months ago and made just 26 appearances in all competitions last season, so he could be available at the right price.
The 22-year-old is a versatile attacker who is capable of playing anywhere across the front-line, so he’d certainly give Rodgers plenty of options if he was to make the move to Anfield this summer.
Liverpool are expected to be busy in the summer transfer window as they look to build a squad capable of competing in the Champions League next season after their impressive second placed finish in the league.

The newspaper report states that Rodgers will have around £50m to spend and he’ll raise extra funds by selling on the likes of Daniel Agger, Iago Aspas, Pepe Reina, Luis Alberto and Fabio Borini, and it seems he’s ear-marked the vast majority of his budget on a triple swoop for Lallana, Lovren and Shaqiri.
