Manchester United are in talks with Juventus about a sensational €50m deal for midfielder Arturo Vidal that could see Nani AND Patrice Evra make the move to Turin, according to reports.
Vidal has emerged as one of the best all-round midfielders in Europe after playing a starring role for Juventus in recent years and he’s helped the Italian giants to three successive Serie A titles since joining the club from Bayer Leverkusen in 2011.
The 27-year-old’s impressive displays have led to interest from several clubs in recent transfer windows, with Man Utd among those to be strongly linked with a move for the Chilean international.
It seems new boss Louis van Gaal has now given the green light for the deposed champions to step up their pursuit with the Express claiming that United are in negotiations with Juventus over a €50m (£40m) deal that could see both Nani and Evra used as part-exchange for Vidal.
The newspaper suggests that the two clubs have agreed that out-of-favour winger Nani will definitely be involved in any potential deal, but they are still at odds over whether Evra will also be included.
It would certainly be a surprise to see Juve sell a key man like Vidal, but they don’t have a lot of money these days and with the club closing in on attacker Juan Iturbe, it looks like they are willing to cash in on the Chilean rather than be forced into letting Paul Pogba leave.
So United could benefit from the Italians financial constraints and it would be a major coup for van Gaal if he could lure Vidal to Old Trafford and continue United’s big spending this summer, with the club already tying up deals for Ander Herrera and Luke Shaw.

However, they could face some stiff competition for Vidal’s services as the Express claim that Bayern Munich are also keen with Pep Guardiola earmarking the midfielder as the ideal replacement for Real Madrid-bound Toni Kroos.
It remains to be seen what kind of offer the German giants come up with if they do formalise their interest, but United will hope the inclusion of Nani and possibly Evra would swing the deal in their favour.
