Midfielder Speaks Out On Potential Man Utd Move Amid Reports £34m Deal Has Stalled
Arturo Vidal says it won’t be a problem if his £34m move to Man Utd falls through amid reports the two clubs are struggling to agree a fee for the midfielder
The summer transfer window is now open for business and it’s expected to be a busy few weeks as managers strengthen their squads ahead of next season, so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip. Today, Arturo Vidal speaks out about a potential move to Man Utd.
Arturo Vidal has claimed it won’t be a problem if his proposed £34m move to Manchester United falls through amid reports the two clubs are struggling to agree a fee for the midfielder, according to reports today.
The 27-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent weeks and reports over the weekend in Spain suggested that a deal was close to completion after the midfielders agent, Fernando Felicevich, supposedly held successful talks with United officials last week.
However, while the player may have an outline agreement in place with the former Premier League champions, it seems the move has hit a major stumbling block with the Mirror claiming today that United have ‘walked away’ from the negotiation table after refusing to be held to ransom over the players signature.
The Red Devils confirmed a new kit sponsorship deal on Monday worth an estimated £750m over the next 10 years, but the newspaper suggests that despite this cash windfall, United are determined not to pay over the odds for Vidal and won’t meet Juve’s £34m asking price.
The Serie A champions are believed to be willing to cash-in on either Vidal or Paul Pogba in order to balance the books but it appears they have priced United out of a move for the Chilean international.
Vidal has now spoken out about the potential move and has claimed it wouldn’t be a problem if the United deal fell through as he’s already at a ‘great team like Juventus’.
“I am already at a great team like Juventus,”
“That’s why it will not be a problem if the chance to join Manchester United falls through. I am not thinking about where to go next.” Vidal is quoted as saying by the Mirror
It’s certainly an interesting choice of words from the player as he’s not only confirming that a deal with United could be in the pipeline but he’s also revealing that he won’t be unsettling his position at Juventus by pushing for the switch to go through.
Obviously United fans are excited by the prospect of Vidal joining the club, and with good reason too as he’s one of the best all-round midfielders in Europe and would no doubt be a major coup if they could pull it off.

However, as it stands, it’s looks as though the deal has stalled and unless either club backs down or a compromise is found, then Louis van Gaal will have to look elsewhere in his search for a goal-scoring midfielder, and Vidal appears content to remain in Turin.
