Man Utd Hope To Land Liverpool Target With €60m Bid & €7.5m-Per-Year Contract
Man Utd will hope to finally land Arturo Vidal as they are lining-up a huge €60m bid and will tempt the midfielder with a four-year deal worth €7.5m-per-season.
The summer transfer window is now open for business and it’s expected to be a busy few weeks as managers strengthen their squads ahead of next season, so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip. Today, Man Utd ready to table huge bid for Arturo Vidal.
Manchester United will hope to finally land Arturo Vidal with reports today claiming they are lining-up a huge €60m bid and will tempt the Juventus midfielder with a four-year deal worth €7.5m-per-season.
There has been much speculation over the future of Vidal this summer with United and Liverpool among the clubs strongly linked with a move for the Chilean international midfielder in recent weeks.
Reports over the weekend claimed that Juventus had told any potential suitors they must agree a deal before this coming weekend if they want to stand a chance of signing the 27-year-old as they want his future resolved before they head off on their pre-season tour of Asia.
It looks as though United have taken this warning on board as the Mirror are citing reports coming out of Italy that claim the former champions are set to table a mammoth €60m (£48m) bid and will tempt Vidal with a four-year deal worth around €7.5m-per-season.
The newspaper suggests that Vidal’s agent, Fernando Felicevich, will take United’s offer to Juventus this week and also confirm interest from other Premier League sides, with Liverpool likely to be among those keen on luring him to England.
It remains to be seen how Juve will respond to United’s offer but it’s surely going to be extremely difficult for the Serie A champions to turn down, particularly with rumours of financial difficulties circulating this summer.
Even if the Italians decide to spurn United’s bid, they will be under huge pressure from Vidal’s agent to match their wage offer – almost double his current salary – which they may find difficult to do given their wage structure.
It will also be interesting to see how Liverpool respond to United’s bid as Brendan Rodgers still has plenty of money left over following the sale of Luis Suarez, and signing a player of Vidal’s quality would certainly make a huge statement of intent as the Merseysiders get set to return to the Champions League next season.
