Agent Claims Vidal Will Leave After Midfielder Undergoes Initial Man Utd Medical
Man United’s pursuit of Arturo Vidal has taken fresh twists today with a well-connected Italian agent claiming the midfielder will leave Juventus this summer
The summer transfer window is now open for business and it’s expected to be a busy few weeks as managers strengthen their squads ahead of next season, so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip. Today, the latest on Manchester United’s pursuit of Arturo Vidal.
Manchester United’s pursuit of Arturo Vidal has taken fresh twists today with a well-connected Italian agent claiming the midfielder will leave Juventus this summer, according to reports.
Vidal has been strongly linked with a move to United in recent weeks and despite Juve’s public declaration that the 27-year-old is happy at the club and isn’t for sale, widespread reports suggest a deal is very-much in the pipeline.
Speculation in Chile earlier this week claimed that Vidal’s agent, Fernando Felicevich, would try and push through a £47m move during face-to-face talks with director Giuseppe Marotta on Wednesday after United had put forward a bumper contract worth around £270,000-a-week.
The Metro then cited reports from Chilean newspaper El Mercurio who suggested that Vidal has already undergone initial medical checks ahead of the potential move. The midfielder has suffered from knee and ankle problems in the past and it’s understood United wanted to run-the-rule over the injuries before pressing ahead with a big-money move.
La Tercera newspaper then claimed that Louis van Gaal has reserved the famed No.7 shirt for Vidal at Old Trafford in preparation for the Chilean international’s arrival after Antonio Valencia vacated the number.
Now, United’s pursuit has been given a further boost with Italian agent Andrea D’Amico telling Sky Italia that Vidal is certain to leave Turin this summer. He said:
‘Vidal will leave,’
‘I’m convinced that he will leave this summer.’
D’Amico doesn’t directly represent Vidal, but he does represent several other Juventus players and it’s understood he has close links with the club, so he is likely to have the inside track on what’s going on with one of the Serie A champions key players.
It’s not clear how much truth there is behind all these reports or whether Juventus gave permission for the supposed medical checks to take place, but there is certainly plenty of speculation surrounding this transfer.

Vidal would obviously be a sensational coup for United as he’s one of the best all-round midfielders in world football and he’d bring a huge amount of quality to the van Gaal’s new-look team.
We’re just going to have to see how things develop over the coming days but with the new season just around the corner, you’d expect Vidal’s future to be resolved one way or the other within the next week or so.
