Liverpool got off to a winning start in the Premier League after beating Southampton 2-1 at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
Raheem Sterling got the Reds off to the perfect start when he slotted home in the 23rd minute following an excellent through-ball from Jordan Henderson.
Southampton got a deserved leveller just after half time when Nathan Clyne smashed past Simon Mignolet for 1-1 but Daniel Sturridge won it for Liverpool with 10 minutes left, as he poked home from close range.
