[Tweets] Sturridge, Sterling + More: Players React On Twitter After Liverpool Win
Daniel Sturridge, Raheem Sterling, Simon Mignolet and Jose Enrique all took to Twitter to react to Liverpool’s 2-1 win over Southampton on Sunday afternoon.
Liverpool got the new Premier League season off to a winning start with a 2-1 win over Southampton at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
Raheem Sterling put the hosts ahead in the 23rd minute with a cool finish before Daniel Sturridge won it late on with a close range effort after Nathan Clyne had equalised just after half time for the Saints.
It was vitally important for Brendan Rodgers men to kick off the new campaign with a win as the Merseysiders look to go one better and lift the title after pushing Manchester City all the way last season.
After the game, Daniel Sturridge, Raheem Sterling, Simon Mignolet and Jose Enrique all took to Twitter to react to the victory, with the quartet clearly delighted to get their first three points on the table.
Here’s what they had to say:
Teamwork always makes the dream work. Great 3 points. Dug in deep and got the result in the end. I'm a happy fella!! pic.twitter.com/f9Su1idn1K
