Chelsea will look to take another step closer to securing qualification to the knockout stages of the Champions League when they take on Maribor at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night. Here is our predicted line-up:
Goalkeeper: Jose Mourinho could hand Petr Cech a rare start in goal, but the Portuguese coach has stuck with Thibaut Courtois in Europe so far so we think he’ll go with his No.1 again.
Defence: With Cesar Azpilicueta suspended for the Premier League clash with Man Utd at the weekend, he’s sure to start tomorrow. This could mean Branislav Ivanovic is the one to be given a rest with Filipe Luis coming in at left-back.
Midfield: Mourinho has limited options to mix things up in midfield. John Obi Mikel has been ruled out with a foot injury while Ramires has still not recovered from a groin problem that’s seen him on the sidelines in recent weeks, so Nemanja Matic should once again be partnered by Cesc Fabregas in the middle of the park.
Attack: Andre Schurrle has also been ruled out of the game after missing the last two matches with flu. Mourinho could decide to shake things up so Mohamed Salah could get a rare start in attack along with Eden Hazard and Oscar.
Diego Costa won’t feature due to an on-going hamstring problem so Loic Remy is favourite to start up front, but Didier Drogba is also in contention after making his comeback with a sub appearance at the weekend.
