[Tweets] Sturridge & Leiva React On Twitter To Liverpool’s Late Draw In Bulgaria
Daniel Sturridge and Lucas Leiva have both reacted on Twitter following Liverpool’s late draw against Ludogorets. See what the duo had to say here.
Liverpool’s hopes of qualifying for the knockout stages of the Champions League are hanging in the balance after being held to a 2-2 draw by Ludogorets in Bulgaria last night.
The hosts got off to the perfect start when Abalo was on hand to fire home after Simon Mignolet spilled the initial shot but Rickie Lambert scored in his second successive game with a close range header to make it 1-1 just five minutes later.
Liverpool then took the lead just before half time when Jordan Henderson cooly slotted home for 1-2 but Ludogorets equalised with just two minutes remaining when Terziev headed home from close range following a well worked corner.
The draw leaves Liverpool sitting two points off second placed Basel with one game remaining meaning they’ll have to beat the Swiss side at Anfield in two weeks to qualify for the last 16.
After the game, Daniel Sturridge – who missed the match with a thigh injury – took to Twitter to congratulate his team-mates on their efforts and claimed the Reds were unfortunate to concede such a late goal.
Lucas Leiva played the full 90 minutes in Sofia and admitted Liverpool didn’t produce their best performance, but insists the players are doing all they can to get back to winning ways after a difficult few weeks.
Here’s what the duo had to say on social media:
Well done boys!! Unlucky to concede late on. Keeping my dream alive!!!

Not the best performance but fighting and commitment will help the team to get back on the winning ways.
