[Tweets] Gerrard, Sterling & Enrique Celebrate Online After Liverpool Beat Foxes
Steven Gerrard, Raheem Sterling and Jose Enrique celebrated on social media following Liverpool’s 3-1 comeback win over Leicester last night. See what they said
Liverpool came from a goal down to beat Leicester City 3-1 at the King Power Stadium on Tuesday night with Steven Gerrard among the goal-scorers.
The hosts took a shock lead in the 22nd minute when after a scramble in the box, Leonardo Ulloa’s shot crashed back off the post and into the net off the back of goalkeeper Simon Mignolet.
However, Liverpool eventually prevailed thanks to goals from Adam Lallana, Steven Gerrard and a late third from Jordan Henderson as Leicester finished with 10-men following Wes Morgans sending off midway through the second half.
The victory was Liverpool’s second in the space of four days and saw the Merseysiders close in on the top four in the Premier League table, so it’s easy to see why some of the players were buzzing online after the game.
Steven Gerrard took to his official Instagram account to upload a photo of the players celebrating along with a message saying it was a great win for the club.
Sterling and Enrique chose Twitter as their mode of contact as the pair expressed their delight at picking up another important three points.
Here’s what the players had to say on social media:
Great 3 points today and great play by the team. 6 points in 4 days. Now looking forward for the weekend.
