Petr Cech’s Agent Encourages Arsenal & Liverpool To Bid For Out-Of-Favour Keeper
The agent of Petr Cech has encouraged Arsenal and Liverpool to make a bid for the out-of-favour Chelsea goalkeeper ahead of a potential summer move.
With the January transfer window just around the corner managers are getting ready to strengthen their squads ahead of the second half of the season, so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip. Today, Chelsea’s Petr Cech is linked with Arsenal and Liverpool…..
The agent of Petr Cech has encouraged Arsenal and Liverpool to make a bid for the out-of-favour Chelsea goalkeeper ahead of a potential summer move.
Cech has been with Chelsea for over ten years since joining the club from Rennes in 2004 and up until this season, he’s been a regular fixture in the Blues starting eleven and played a key role in winning a whole host of honours including three Premier League titles, four FA Cups and the Champions League.
However, the 32-year-old has been ousted from the first team by Thibaut Courtois with Jose Mourinho naming the Belgian youngster as his new number one after a hugely impressive spell on loan at Atletico Madrid.
Cech has remained a consummate professional but understandably he’s not willing to sit on the bench for too much longer, and although a move in January is highly unlikely, the keepers agent Viktor Kolar has confirmed the Czech international will leave in the summer.
A number of clubs have been linked with the experienced stopper but it seems Cech would like to remain in the Premier League as Kolar has surprisingly urged both Arsenal and Liverpool to make a move for his client:
“It’s unlikely Petr will leave Chelsea in the January transfer window. The club and coach want to keep him to help win the title. I think Arsenal should have made an offer to him. I think Petr would be considering it.
“Liverpool need to strengthen their position in goal and they know Petr will be available in the summer.
“We’ve been in contact with Real Madrid, but they don’t need a keeper just now.” Kolar is quoted as saying by the Mirror.
Despite Kolar’s comments suggesting Cech would consider a move to the Emirates, Arsene Wenger is unlikely to be in the market for another goalkeeper as he’s shown huge faith in Wojciech Szczesny and Arsenal only recently brought in David Opsina as competition for the young Polish international.
However, Liverpool are most certainly on the look-out for a new No.1 after Brendan Rodgers axed Simon Mignolet earlier this month and I’m sure the Northern Irishman would jump at the chance of signing Cech.

The big question mark will be whether Jose Mourinho would be prepared to sell to a domestic rival. Liverpool will be given encouragement by the fact that he surprisingly sold Juan Mata to Manchester United last January, but it remains to be seen whether he’ll do likewise with Cech or force him to move abroad next summer.
